About Us

The «Cachalot» publishing house specializes in production of books made of cloth for the children of 6 months and upward. It was founded in 2003 in Ivano-Frankivsk.

Nowadays the publishing house is a place of birth and selection of ideas. We feel responsibility for each book we make because it is one of the first impressions of a child. The book is apprehended by the infant as a single whole — and so we also create it as a complete piece.

Our books never start with a text or a picture… We simply get together and start playing. For several hours we turn into kids. And so our ideas and our books come into being.

One of the key issues for us is the contact established between our little "readers"
and their parents. In fact it is the reaction of an infant that helps us to select one idea among the others, which is later incorporated in a form that is most comprehensible for the child.
